You could also get a Subway 112 to stack on top of the 115. I've played that combo and it sounds great and very loud and thick, with nice mid's from the 112 closer to your ears. Also the 112 is lighter.

Need a little more sound on stage for outdoor gigs. Use a Mesa D800 and Subway 1x15 cab which works well with a PA but not always available. Looking at a GK 4x12 cab and a Ampeg 6x10. Close in weight, which would be better for stage sound. Play in a oldies band, not loud.

I would get a 4x10 or look at adding a powered sub

Are you saying two subway cabs can compete with some 610 or 810 monsters??
I'm interested as I'd like to reduce/lighten my rig without loosing any of the massive tone I like from my two swr 410.

Get another 15". 2 15's can get crazy loud. I can easily compete with half stacks.

I have had, both the Ampeg 610\GK412, a few times. I prefer the 610. You say you guys are not loud, these cabs are made to get loud, might be more cab then you need? I will tell you, the both slide into the back for a Camry (sideways)

If you play in an oldies band I don't think you would need anything more than a good 410 if your 15 isn't loud enough. Getting a 412 or 610 is overkill unless you love the sound of a particular cab. If you want a single 15 get the Audiokinesis TC15 or any of his other 15 models... You will be heard without a sweat.

Ampeg 610 (the ported one) or a used 810.

Either way, you can't go wrong. both will be loud enough AND also subtle enough for ya!

with a series cable, 4x subway 115's will make 2 ohms; the D800 can do 2 ohms. the maths are telling you what to do.

4 of those is 2ohms without any special homemade cable. Two is 4.

Get another Subway 15, then you will be able to cover anything.

They do cost a hundred less than a 610hlf. I'd probably just go with this option. You'll have a much better time loading in. Even though you'd probably have one more trip to the car, unless you have a cart or help.

But, I do love my 412 (two 212s). My personal opinion, best option available. But for your situation, 2 SW15s seems like the best option all around.

Two SW115s can most definitely compete with any 610 on the market... I say this because they stack up well with my Powerhouse 215, which is arguably the best 215 ever made - which matched up well with the PH610 I used to have... I would say the a pair of SW115s would hold it's own against an SVT810e, but not a PH810...

Totally agree. The 610 is a super loud cab. I loved it.

My question, how old are you? Those big cabinets get heavy! The older you get the heavier they become!
