I agree on that. That's the reason why I use an HPF. Since then I can push them hard without any issue. However, I used the Ampeg 610HLF and could also make it fart. I guess I just like massive low end tones. But I agree with the fact that the PH 410 seemed to accept my massive tone a bit better. Still, I prefered the cristal clean of my SWR.

Yeah, I was also able to make an Ampeg SVT-610HLF fart out far easier than I was comfortable with, so I didn't keep it long... I also like a lot of low end, and tend to use that and clarity of voice as my main metrics in a cab... Also agreed on the usefulness of a good HPF...

Many are not realizing that the Subway Cabs are in the Supper Cabs category and are not your standard 15's or like the 15's of old. They are full range monsters.

SUPER cabs. Supper cabs are only adequate for coffee shops and restaurants. Couldn't resist.

I have to say I tend to believe this too. But I never tried any Mesa Subway stuff, so it's hard to talk about something I haven't tried.

The GK Neo 412 is my favorite cabinet and I would rather move that than my SWR 610.

If I'm doing my math right, a 610 cabinet has 1884 square inches of cone area. A 412 cabinet has 1809. Pretty close to a wash there.

I think you did D^2 x pi instead of r^2. The numbers should be about 470 for the 6x10 and 450 for the 4x12. But the overall relationship is the same. Not a huge difference there.
