4x15? GAHH!!!1

i mean heck it sez MARSHALL on it,that's what ALL the hot old school dudes used thru the milennia,,i bet half the guitardists would think you were totallycoolawesomedude:eek:,,,

i figure a row of em stacked would be very impressive(even if you only ran 1/15 you'd look cool),think of all the girls!=you could point at it(them) and they'd know you were the chid:D

and if it said`Peavey' it would be reasonably priced but not as deesireable,,correct?;)

Yes, BUT, Lemmy uses TWO of those, and TWO 4x12s, and TWO 100w heads.

JUST THAT.

He Doesn't even have a line into the PA. Stoopit PA.. thats just for Vocals and wussy Drummers!!! :bassist:

P.S. I'd also love to build myself a 4x18... Why you say?

WHY NOT i answer. ;)

That's true Lemmy uses 2 of those and 2 4X12 and 2 100 watt amp heads.
Let me be the first to say he plays LOUDLY! VERY LOUDLY! INSANELY LOUD!
Anyone who ever thought 100 watts was not enough hasn't seen Lemmy play with that stack.
To me it is a novelty item for the die-hard fans, and why not Lemmy moves items for Marshall and Rickenbacker.
I would imagine that 4X15 would be enough to hurt small and large children alike... let alone 2 coupled with 2 4X12's.

Yes and no - I've played thru 100watt tube amps that were plenty loud enough for my purposes, but never played thru a 100watt SS amp that would get it done for me - take that for what it's worth...

For example - play a V4BH thru nearly any 115, and see if it doesn't totally spank a BA115... Both 100 watts, both by the same manufacturer...

Maybe they have different gain structures or distortion levels? I'm not an amp expert, but the electronics guys on here say SS or tube, a watt is a watt.

Right, but (and I'm not an expert at all) those are clean watts. Most people crank tube amps past the point of the rated clean headroom, so they go "louder". 100W of clean tube is the same as 100W of solid state, only difference is you can go passed the 100W rating of tube into overdriven tones.

Don't know if that made sense.

That 4 X 15 is the bottom cabinet of for Marshall's reissue of Lemmy's bass rig that he affectionately named "Murder One".

Power comes from a 100 watt tube head.

100 watts may not sound like a lot compared to today's standards, but remember that is not just 100 "tube watts", it's 100 "Lemmy watts". :hiding:

It makes sense. A 100 watt tube amp can be pushed into that tube compression area, whereas an SS amp hits that digital "brick wall." But doesn't driving a tube amp past the rated headroom mean that you're "getting more watts" from it, so to speak?

I think if you tested a tube and SS amp so that the output levels were matched watt for watt, they'd be the same volume through the same cabinets.

Not saying a tube amp rated at the same output as an SS amp couldn't be pushed louder while still sounding good, but a watt is still a watt. Hopefully one of the amp guys can chime in.
