5-string basses & playing

Whatever you get, make sure to put the 4 strings away while you’re learning.
You need to make yourself do everything on a 5er for as long as you can.
I played exclusively a 5er for about 2.5 years. It took a while to start playing it as a 5 string and not a 4 + 1, but once I got it, it opened up a lot of things.
I got a KILLER 4 string to pair it with and quickly figured out how to switch back and forth, but then realized I had truly become a 5 string player and-to my own utter shock-sold the 4 string.
