5 String "Fender Shaped" Pbass Pickups Poll and Thread (Assymetrical)

I'm looking to add a 5-string P-bass to my collection, and I'm planning on doing a pickup swap and electronics upgrade right away. I know some people prefer to leave stock electronics, but for me, especially with budget basses, this process makes me feel comfortable using them for serious gigging and recording. It just works for me!

The goal is to get that traditional, classic P-bass tone but with the added versatility of a low B string.

I play a lot of country music, but I also love playing all kinds of genres, so a versatile tone is key.

I appreciate any thoughts and interest on the different pickups. 5-string PBass pickup threads are sporadic at best.

I am looking at the Sire P5R primarily.

Well you can eliminate the Wilde P46. It is not asymmetric, both halves are regular 4 string P sized. At the very least, you’d need a new pick guard to hide the open space that the OEM sire pickup uses.
