I have been tweaking my Franken P with flats and Fender '62 RI pups, and have been able to nail that George "Chocolate" Perry sound; which really works for my Gospel gigs. But there are times I wish I could dip down to that low B. My question: is there anybody out there that plays a 5 string P, with flats and a semi or fully vintage sound?

Thanks, H2

Godin makes a reasonably priced P/J bass that has a mild singlecut shaped body. I know a dealer in St. Louis that has a new one for under $600.

If you want an active bass, I think Fender has a Deluxe five string P, and if you want to go whole check oout Sadowsky. There is a killer P/J for sale on this weeks Sadowsky site.
