sound (sorry for my playing..) :Link Removed

one-piece ash body, flatsawn ash neck, rosewood, Big Singles, that's all. it's a prototype, I'm planning to build the second one with maple board.

thank you, guys! yes, the fifth hole is an active/passive switch, but at the moment there's no electronics, only a 4 way rotary switch (pickup select + mute).
I want a 2 band EQ and a high-pass filter. more photos coming, but got no time now...
(after putting together I felt that there is no need for an active EQ :)) but I have the holes, andI always liked the "effect" of a bypassable EQ.. I play the other bass mostly passive, but its handy to boost something with a little swith in a song...)

Also: good to see a capable luthier so close to Croatia. You're in Hungary, right?

right, from Hungary. but I'm just an amateur, with about 10 instrument per 10 years :)

It's hard to say how the ash neck modifies the sound compared to maple.. because I never built a similar neck from maple :)
In our country the maple is softer than the usual "rock maple" used on many instruments, so I decided to use ash, which is superb for bodies and necks too, in my opinion.
MTD and Fodera is using it, but I think, I haven't ever tried an instrument with ash neck, except mine (most of my basses are ash-necked)

second picture: note the "easy-access" joint and lower horn :-)
3rd pic: the cavity's plate is ..well... it should be only temporary, because the grain orientation looks odd, but knowing myself, it will take long-long time to replece it..
