5A Flame Maple body or 5A Quilt Maple?

IMG_3541web.jpg

Quilted, but I'm also a little biased. This is a washed black dye finish from Warmoth and it turned out absolutely killer!

Hi,

I’m looking for “Opinions.” If you as a bassist had to choose between these two on your body. Which would you choose. 5A quilt maple or 5A flame maple.

Thanks for your input!!!!
Honestly, for me it would come down to the color of finish.

Neutrals (tint, amber, brown) & "warm" colors (yellow, orange, red), I'd go Flame.

"Cool" colors (green, blue, purple), I'd go Quilt.

Tremendous! Could you PM me about your experience ordering from them? Im curious about wait time, cost and your expectations versus what you received. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a very similar order.
Here are my two Warmouth I did not get 5A and I should have but the non 5A came out pretty good also. My wait time was five weeks not too bad.

The colour does matter as does how far away you are expecting to see it from.
Some subtle patterns will be invisible from distance so you need the colour to work.

Now, I don't mind solid colours on a good sounding body. One of the things often overlooked, imv, people get so carried away with the visuals, they compromise the build with non capatible combinations.
I had a stunning top but the woods were not sonically matched well so basically the bass was a pretty 'dog'..
And ultimately, no one is interested in a poor sounding bass.
