5ers with narrow necks?

Thinking of getting rid of my Yamaha and replacing it. Now the main reason I'm getting rid of it is because the neck is too wide.


Anoyne know any 5ers with fairly narrow necks? I've got roughly £250 to play with.

Ibanez Soundgears have very narrow necks and spacing.

Ibanez, SX or buy a medium wide four(like a pbass) and add a new bridge and tuning head, I've seen it done before. Actually, you should PM Ric5, he does these conversions a lot, and should have a lot of info on the subject.

Being in the UK, do any of your local shops carry Tanglewood, they have a big necked 4 string called a Rebel 4K, I think the use the same neck on the fiver, the Rebel 5K, they have great pickups, light small body, 24 frets, and should be cheap as chips.

yea ibanez r good but i picked up a spector legend 5 the other day to test it out and was shocked my the thin neck even tho it is a spector - im not sure a new one will be 250 quid but thats because i dont know the current exchange rate (there $560 new)

Musicman SR5 necks are considered by some to be narrow, but may not be in your price range. Perhaps an MM Sub?

Rickenbackers for sure, same 4 string neck, but with 5 strings on it. VERY narrow spacing.

I thought my yamaha was a wicked instrument when I got it,... playing the K5 is just nuts in comparison tho, ultra low action and thin and smooth neck made me want to just pick up and play when I first got it,... I totally love the K5

Cort Artisan A5 basses have a very skinny neck. I believe the nut width is only 45mm. The Cort Artisan basses are also great instruments for the money.

If you can't find an A5 try looking for an Ocean TB75. It's basically the same thing with a different headstock.

Peavey Millenium AC BXP 5 has a thin neck. I have one.

For the right price, you can own it. I don't play it very much anymore. Now I'm going to get a Traben 5 because I want more string spacing, not less.
