6 hours later...(tattoo post)

is that a rose for every year you guys were together?

Yes, there is a rose for every year. The white one of course is for her. The wreath as you all know, has it's own symbolism. The center is my original tattoo I designed about 10 years ago. It's a 5th century Celtic dragon representing my Scotch-Irish ancestry. The ring around the dragon is a 3 node knot I designed to stand for each member of my family. Since that family no longer exists, I kept the design and added the surrounding art to be a part of but separate from the original. The roses themselves have a connection with our wedding. We used red rose arrangements with a single white rose on the tables at the reception. The white rose was in memory of my mother that had passed away 3 years prior. We were married on her birthday.

Deb loved colorful tattoo art that had a real meaning. She had her own ink that I designed and got it before I got mine. She was always proud of that tattoo and the pain she went through to get it. The small amount of discomfort I went through getting this is nothing compared to her ordeal.

I got the work at Sacred Heart tattoo here in Lilburn. It was done by a young but extremely talented artist named Eric Ray. We got to know each other quite a bit during the work and you can bet I'll be going back for more work in the future.

I have a Yahoo 360º blog I've been adding to for the past week that has a bit of insight into my journey back from this hell. If you're interested, here's the link:

Thanx guys.

Hammy, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your son. I just read your Y blog...it's full of love, man! As to your line about your family "no longer exists"- it does, you're just not all in the same place at the same time. Deb is still with you, my brother, you just don't have her in a physical way. You do have her forever in your heart, protected by your love now. I know you miss her. She's watching over you, as well.

PM me whenever you feel like talking. I'm here for you.

Eric
