6 string bass -> baritone guitar transtion

Howdy. I play 6 string bass. While reading I came across the fact that a lot of baritone guitar is similiar tuning to 6 string bass. I change my lowest string on the bass to a B for BEADGB tuning which makes some chords easier to play for me. Which I believe is a tuning for baritone guitar?
If I buy a baritone guitar and keep the tuning BEADGB or BEADFB would most of the bass lines I wrote transition to the guitar tuning? With the exception of re-doing the F string in that situation? This would be helpful for me in not having to rely on a guitarist for song parts. I could just double my bass section with guitar tones.
Or am I missing the mark here somewhere?

Some baritones are tuned A-a and some B-b….string gauge makes a bit of a difference.

I dinked around with a few baritones with different tunings and string gauges. Sometimes you’ll run into a string length problem. I’ve documented my “experiments” elsewhere on this site…about a decade ago. Long story short, I went with a Bass VI and gave up on baritones.

Try BEAD F# B. Exact same fingering as regular tuning guitar for chords, scales, etc, just tuned a perfect fourth lower.

My bari guitar is B-B and I tried it A-A. But there’s no wrong way if it works for your needs. I don’t own a proper 6 string bass but I’ve messed around with different tunings in my 5s to try different chord patterns. Ain’t no law agin’it.
