6 string fender jazz

there aren't any production 6-stringers by fender currently. steve bailey plays a fretless 6 string jazz bass and i've heard rumors that fender will produce it at some point. these basses are jazz bass-ish and they come in 6 string configurations.

I was wondering if that really was a Fender Jazz I saw him play in a video off of YouTube... at the time I thought a unlined fretless six-string Fender Jazz didn't exist, but I suppose it does. Does Fender even produce unlined fretless Jazzes? I know the Tony Franklin Precision is unlined, but I've never seen an unlined Jazz. Just curious... I've also heard the rumors about a six-string Fender.
Yeah, I've been hearing rumors of a production Fender Steve Bailey sig for years, but the only one I've seen has been his.

Cheap and has a fender-ish vibe. I love mine, low action, sounds very good, considering the price. Heck, it sounds good for any price.

not quite Jazz basses, but the custom shop made some like this..
those are a beauty, all I know is tht Fender 6er's currently have to be obtained through the custom shop I think, I know Performance basses make a 6string jazz but Performance is a custom company so.....
There were at least two separate threads a few days ago on this; word was 'leaked' that Fender would indeed do a production version of Steve Bailey's custom shop six. Search, children...
BTW, there's some youtube vids clearly showing Steve's Fender. Sadly(IMO)it looks nearly identical to his old Aria sig model- a nice bass but far short of some of the stuff I've seen come from the Fender CS.

You can buy my KSD Jazz Proto 6 string with maple board - it's like a Marcus with 6 strings...It'll be for sale as soon as my custom-made comes in around November. There's a thread on it in "For Sale" - it's back aways, though...

I saw an interview with a Fender rep at Namm '08' and there is a 6'er in the works, with Steve Bailey having alot to do with the details, but Fender wants it to be top notch before it will be presented to the masses.
