6-string jazz suggestions

Yes, I've thought about Atelier Z as well, but who has one in stock? Even their own site doesn't show them.

I've been considering the 648 they have at Todobajos. A friend of mine in Madrid actually played it.
Hoe is the weight on your STR? And if you say the neck is a bit chunky: can you give me a measurement front to back in mm?

Oh yes you can send your own preamp or choose your own preamp you want them to fit onto your bass. I have to say that the feel of the neck is a bit more chunky than vintage F Bass and slightly more chunky than a current F Bass. However, that's actually alright as long as your set-up is good. That's my advice if you're thinking of STR. =)

Well, that gold finish doesn't work for me. I've found a white one in stock somewhere, but I still have to get used to the idea of owning a bass that is not sunburst or natural :)
Their price is decent, I have to say.

I left my bass in school as my equipment are all there so I can't give you an offhand exact answer.

It's the lightest bass I've own (mahogany body though), and it's lighter than the bass which weighs 4.5kg which is at home with me right now.

It's not chunky unless you do a direct comparison with vintage F Bass. It's about 18mm across the neck(according to another bass which has a similar feel). Will tell you as soon as I check the exact figures. So far the two STR basses I've held are lighter than Fender Jaco Pastorius Model (4-string) so it's pretty light (though both of them were >5 strings).

More importantly I think the price is very reasonable. Hahaz. Any more questions for me to check? =) Oh yes their single coils are well known to be silent with good tone. Because mine's humbuckers so that's all I can give for now. As for humbuckers, I love the thump that they give and the full tone that comes out of it. =)
