6 string MM pickup.

Hi.

I'm looking for good MM style humbucking 6string pickup. I would like to get Duncan's replacement model (the same as in Myung's Yamaha RBX JM2), but it's unavailable. :| As far as I know Bartolini doesn't make any 6string MM p-ups too. The luthier that I'm going to make my bass by recommends me BassCulture pickups, custom made, in wooden hausings. Any thoughts about them?

What would you reccomend?

The bass will probably have alder body, maple top, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard (I know, not very sophisticated configuration, but I hope, it'll work ).

I'm reasonably sure Nordstrand could make you one as well and I'm confident the Delano would be a good choice too.

No, I didn't contact them. I live in Poland and I think that price of SD's custom pickup + shipping + all taxes will be to much for my budget. GMR (polish bass guitar manufacturer, Link Removed) has something like contract with BassCulture, so they'll do everything needed to get the p-ups. In case I decided to get the pickup on my own, I would have to do every required formalities myself. Unfortunately Nordstrand stuff isn't available in Poland yet. Delano is, so I'll think about it.

I've not personally, but I remember someone hotrodding a vintage Ibanez with some and it sounded real good in the clips posted.

I'd recommend checking out Delano too.
I've tried a couple of Sandberg basses recently with Delano MM pickups and they where really good!
They actually do a stock 6 string MM pickup, but it doesn't have exposed pole pieces, to get those you need to hit up the custom shop.

Robbie of RIM Basses (Link Removed) here in the UK has used Bass Cultures and Delano custom pickups in his basses, you should maybe send him an e-mail via his website, he's a really friendly guy, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to give you a bit of advice.

Its great to see a bit of discussion on delano, I'm looking at ordering a double J for my stingray copy, although i checked the pickup route and it is big enough for a normal MM too. So either would do me i think.

The Delanos seem to be cool, but I'm rather looking for p-ups with exposed pole pieces, Delano doesn't make such 6 MM p-ups. :|

Give them an e-mail, they make 6 string MM pickups in their custom shop.
I can't imagine they'll be much more expensive.
