I think that might be an xb76, the 35 1/4" scale, but I'm not certain. If it has 22 frets it's the xb, if 24 it's the 34" lb76. I personally prefer a 34", but lots of folks like the longer scale. Either way, that looks like a great bass.

The neck is thin,its neck-thru.

BTBs are great basses, but Their neck is pretty big compared to the SR necks. Totally different animals.

Carvins are a good value, especially used.

For me the BB76 models balance much better than the LB/XB or Icon variants. I had a BB76P for a while, but the walnut was just too heavy overall.

My current primary player is a Matt Pulcinella Guitars Level 6. It's a bit out of your price range new. But you might get lucky on the used market.
