6 string suggestions?

I don't want to beat a dead horse as this question is no where near new, but the search engine makes it hard to find threads on 6 strings. so, I ask my bass brothers and sisters, what are some of your favorite 6 string basses that are max 1200. I'd prefer sub-1000 if possible. my personal preferences lead me to thinner necks (bongo 6er is too big too me) and I like neck-thru basses for the visual aspect and heel feel. BUT I'M OPEN TO ANY SUGGESTIONS YOU HAVE! any help is much appreciated, THANK YOU!

Used Yamaha TRB6 or TRB6II, though I'm not sure it really can be consiedered as a thin neck. I always felt comfortable on them.

Otherwise the two suggestion above are relevant too.

Upper end esp ltd or Ibanez would be my choice new. Though used peavey cirrus would be mighty tempting. Oddly with all my general regard for 6ers being to wide necked for me Ive been bashing around the idea of getting one as alternate for change of pace bass. Mostly concidering the ESP LTD B-206SM 6-String Bass. The neckthru version might be good one to check out for yourself as possible choice.

Yeah. I put my carvin away for ten years and now it's in my hands constantly. I modded it electronically but the wood vibrates wonderfully. It's getting duties over my MTD which blows my mind a little bit. Totally different axes though. It's always scary ordering any bass, however.

Try and look for a used TRB-6 or 6P, or an Aria sixer. Well under a grand, great basses. I like Carvin a lot but I don't like sub 19mm spacing so that's a problem for me. I had an LB76 fretless years ago, a big problem was the bridge pickup wasn't wide enough and didn't read the B string as well as the others, meaning there was a slight volume dropoff on the B string. Reaaally irritating. Only cost me 450 bucks though, maple neck through koa...

I got a beautiful Icon 6 in perfect condition for $700. Great bass. I put in some of their J99A pickups in soapbar covers and they are really great J pickups. I played it with my band last night and the bass sounded amazing. The stock soapbars sound good, but the J99As are better IMO. If I ever order a new one it will be with the J99As from the factory. They made an already great bass perfect.

The pickups are passive, and there is an active 18v 3 band (with sweepable mids) preamp. I don't remember what I paid for shipping. I live in Hawaii so the shipping is high to here. BTW, mine isn't ever going to be for sale. It's a keeper.

I think that might be an xb76, the 35 1/4" scale, but I'm not certain. If it has 22 frets it's the xb, if 24 it's the 34" lb76. I personally prefer a 34", but lots of folks like the longer scale. Either way, that looks like a great bass.
