6 String Tuned How?!

On the Ibanez website and stumbled across another magical "Workshop" bass of theirs. On first look it seemed normal, but it's stock tuned EBGDAE (low to high).
What the hell! What's the logic behind this?

That's got to be backwards, high to low, making it a "bass vi" class thingie (I'm guessing/hoping).

Oh. Haha! False alarm - just compares to a standard bass. Yes I didn't realize Ibanez writes their tuning backwards. Hehe.

Yup. From the spec:

• factory tuning 1E,2B,3G,4D,5A,6E

• string gauge .024 /.034/.044/.056/.072/.084

Notice the string "1E" corresponds to the thinnest (highest) gauge .024, while "6E" is the .084 low E (E1).

The list them from string 1 to string 4 (or 5 or 6). If you buy a set of strings, they are listed from smallest to largest. Why wouldn't they list them that way? The bigger question is why doesn't everyone else do it the same.
