6 string with pickguard?

I am really used to the feel of the pickguard underneath my fingertips.
Esp. for the pop technique..
And my 2 main axes have a pickguard so I dont really want to switch to a
modern shaped bass in order to play a 6 string...
Secondly and less importantly I love the fender style shape too...
Are there any brands or models that make 6 string basses with more
of a fender look or at at least a pickguard.
Or are we bound to buy one of these "modern lookin" 6ers??
(like warwick's shape which I hate personally :-P)

Aww Low End Jazz looks unbelievable....
God I wish I didnt live that far from where they are built...
I am in Middle East almost...
Any other brand?
another important Q : Which more popular brand can I buy and put a pickguard on and it will feel+look like a Fender?
String distance can be 16.5 mm thats ok for me though....

Low End Jazz!!!!!

Low End Jazzes are awesome basses. I got to play one at a guitar show and I've lusted after them ever since. If you get one I will hate you. :D

With that said, I know The Low End Bass Shop in Nashville does international shipping and have Low End jazz basses pretty much in stock all the time.

Check out their policy on international shipping. I'm telling you, they're freakin' amazing basses.

I'm kinda in the process of looking at starting one. Brian has been working on a pre that will combine a Wal with an Alembic type of electronics. When combined with the Low End wide pickups, it might be a tonal alternative to a Wal. So, when he has it ready to go, I'll be looking at ordering one....although I'd need to decide how many strings I'd want. Getting my first 6er in about a month or so.

Sounds like you're gonna have a funk machine. Like I said, I will hate you.:D
I want pics. Lots of pics.

Will do when I start it. I'm pretty optimistic on the pre, but a shade leary on the number of strings since 5ers are rare enough in Nebraska and I don't have the option of trying out most basses other than stock standards.

Talk to Brian, man. It sounds like he's working on the ultimate pre-amp!

Any specifics on that preamp? Sounds interesting! I know they now have a 'deluxe' version that includes a passive tone control which works in both passive and active modes.

You'd hafta ask Brian as what he told me basically overloaded my bird brain. I believe it will have a EQ and low pass filters, and a passive option.

Not sure when it will be done, but should be really cool, eh?
