Like many, I like my wide leather strap because it's slightly "grippy" and helps keep my bass stay in one place when I'm playing. Especially with a bass that has some minor neck dive, my de-fretted 70s Mustang.

Well, after almost 50 years, the strap got shiny and slippery on the back.

Solution? I sanded it, with some coarse sandpaper. Now I think it's nearly as grippy as a new strap.

I left the top side of the strap alone, since it's got a certain... patina to it. But I'm ready for another 50 years.
