I remember seeing a 60's 3-tone sunburst Fender Jazz bass (ions ago!) that had a tortoise shell pickguard with a brown/tan rope border around the edge of the pickguard.
I thought that was the coolest looking thing. Has anyone else ever seen that done before? It was something someone probably did on their own with glue.
