Justin, it's always fun to drop at your pages. it's very very nice from you to answer all these q's, and you obviously enjoy this life! great collection of basses too! could it be you bought that '70 Precision from Paul Jackson? for the strings, did you played La Bella flats? I am also big fan of chromes, but for a extreme fatness and funk, I think LB might be the ones! don't wanna start anything, I know you're D addario artist,just sharing thoughts... cheers!!!:)

La Bella's are really, really great. I think I just like the feel of Chromes in my hand. And now, the set that's on there is about ten years old, so I am loathe to make any changes! ;)

Man! I had a set of Chromes on a Stingray for a while that just got so dead and sounded so wonderful. I swore I'd never change them. But after so much abuse, the low E string and A string simply refused to stay in tune up the neck, and no measure of intonation adjustments could help it. Enjoy them as long as you can!

I do, yes. Good bass. Sometimes not vibrant enough, but a strong bass that I've recorded endlessly. I just really prefer (for a roundwound P sound), my '75 Rootbeer.

Plus, it is just the COOLEST Fender finish. Could there be anything more 70s than a brown bass? Makes me long for the orange shag carpeting in my grandparents' old house!!
