6er preference... Cirrus or BTB

Ive had my ibanez btb776pb 6string for about 4 and a half months now and i actually sold my cirrus-5 right after
both were really good don't get me wrong, but the neck on the BTB is like cheating its so fast
and i have tiny hands

although i wouldn't mind grabbing a 6er cirrus and giving it a try as well cause that thing sounded sweet

I have a line on a btb - unfortunately with ibanez I am challenged knowing which ones are the premium and which are commodity

Are there any clues to look for on a used one (stickers are removed)

Weight isn't an issue as my primary requested bass weighs 13# (no not a t40

Cheese - opinion... Why a btb over cirrus or other ibanez

I would not say the BTB is better than a Cirrus, just different. It would be more like a Tobias/Elrick/Pedulla or other Bart equipped modern bass. The Cirrus is more in the Ken Smith sort of sound as you know.

As I said before, if you want a BTB, look for one with American made Barts. They are simply killer basses, especially when you can find one used.

I'm not sure about 6 string, but in the case of the 5-strings, one important difference I see is string spacing. BTB is more traditional (I believe it is the standard 3/4', not sure) while in the Cirrus it is tighter (17mm).

BTB neck is slim, Cirrus is also more narrow. As many said there is nothing better or worse, just different. In fact I like the Cirrus string spacing for finger or pick playing, but the 19mm could probably slightly better for slap. With the USA Cirrus you can tweak string spacing to +/- 1mm, give or take.

Both necks are very fast to play, and due to the long horns in both, playing in the 1st position is easier than on many 34' scale basses (my hands are relatively small and now I play Cirrus fretless, it's very comfortable).

I also think (but I maybe wrong) that Cirrus are lighter, BTB heavier. Again, not good or bad, just different.

BTB sixes have 17mm spacing too. BTB fives have 19mm spacing. Remember that 17mm is wide for an Ibanez since most Ibbys have 16.5mm spacing.:D

I say look for an older high end BTB with USA Barts. Those basses are even with Tobias or Elrick, IMO.

these are what i got in mine (btb)and its a new model
i know these barts are exclusive to this bass
but i thought there were USA as well
are they not cheese?
