7-String Ibanez MONSTER

Tried one. I didn't like it but I probably am not the target consumer for this type of thing. Compared to a Warrior seven string (my only 7-string reference to be fair), the string spacing is unbearable. However, I'm approaching the thing as a bassist and not a guitarist. A guitarist might have great things to say about it.

Someone has already said in this thread it might be more of a guitarist thing for the target audience so I can't give an honest bashing for that reason. Having said that, if they are indeed marketing this for bassists my only question would be; are they insane?

Probably not. Ibanez is successful for a reason. I wish them well with it. Still, a very odd shot for them to take. Oh well, without experimentation we'd probably still be beating on hollow logs with monkey bones.

I have a 5-string. With 24 frets. But I'd never think less of a bassist with 4 strings and 20. If they can play as well as I can with 9 less notes than me, awesome.

On-topic, I can't seem to find any examples of this Ibanez 7-string bass guitar construction on YouTube or anywhere. Someone help? I think if we all sit down and listen to it together, then proper discussion sans silly traditional attitudes vs. newer schools of thought may begin.
