7 string sets (high F)

Im new to the round wound "High F" game. Talk to me. I have a 6 that is E-F, and am trying to figure out the gauge and wound vs plain for the high F. What do you guys like?

My 7 came with a .020p high-F and long time ago I bought a .020w. But, it's been years since I put on a .018p high-F. It just feels easier on my fretting hand.

0.20p denotes a plain string, not wound?

Neither is going to last as long as some of the other strings, but the plain string is a lot cheaper than a wound .020. It's easier to buy 3-4 plain strings for the price of one wound one in this case.

That said, I still use a wound .020 because of the feel over anything else.

Yup, p=plain, w=wound.

I never liked the feel or tone of a plain F. The high F tends to have issues sounding a little 'weird' to begin with, I felt like the plain string made it even more noticeable on my bass. .20w can be brittle at bass lengths but anytime I had one break while installing the manufacturer was happy to replace it, it only happened a couple times though.
