oh, duh. so basically i need to buy a gk speakon. That is the only time bi-amping with a gk cab will work right? Otherwise you run it full range if it's a normal speakon.

That is correct, the G-K speakon is just a high quality 4 wire speakon. You can do the same by making or buying a 4 wire speakon cable. As others have said you can defeat the horn by running a 2 wire speakon or 1/4" cable and set the cab to biamp. Otherwise turn down the L-Pad for the horn.

Well I had a chance to run it again tonight. Again, everything seemed good at first. Then, about 45 min into it the problem started happening again. I did not make any adjustments to it before that time. I set the cab to biamp and it seemed like the problem went away, then it reared it's ugly head again. I'm at a loss, almost 90% certain it's not my amp. The 1/4 inch jack on the back is broken so my guess is the owner (whom i've never met) messed something else up inside the cab. The L-pad was turned almost entirely off. I will say that the problem was in no way as bad as last time, mostly just the light bulb going off, but no squealing like last time.
