I went with Sovtek 6L6WXT+ for mine because of their reputation as being mechanically sturdy related to vibration. In a combo amp, that's a consideration to keep in mind, since the speakers will be vibrating the head all the time.

70's bassman model 10 combo.

I went with Sovtek 6L6WXT+ for mine because of their reputation as being mechanically sturdy related to vibration. In a combo amp, that's a consideration to keep in mind, since the speakers will be vibrating the head all the time.
I used one for several years back in the day. Mine came with
the factory D-110F JBLs. The efficiency of the speakers made it useable in much louder situations than the stock ones which I thought dull in comparison. I played a 59' P at the time and together the tone was absolute perfect text-book Fender.
I traded the Bassman 10 up to a MusicMan HD-130 with two EV loaded 15" reflex cabs and entered a whole new level of tone nirvana.
