70's ric

There's some nice looking dents in the back of the neck as well. It would be interesting to know what part of the neck the repair was done.

Listing does not say pickguard was replaced, it says pick up might have been replaced. Listing says there's an extra pickguard.
 
From the description I think he's saying the bass has a replacement neck. In a neck through, what does that mean?

Not "replacement" neck, "repaired" neck. Whatever that means.

"The neck was recut, reattached and repainted..."

Did they saw the neck off entirely? I'm baffled here too. There don't seem to be any bolts, though, so it should be neck-through.
 
The 4002 came with binding on the headstock ... the 4001 didn't.
