70's V4B and single SVT210-AV

The head is sweet with that cab and looks pretty cool as well. A PF350 would be another option if you want a Micro VR sounding head with more power and don't mind not having the look. Same pre in both, just different power amps. Couldn't tell the difference in tone between them.

I resisted when I first got my cab, but two do sound twice as sweet. That said, I'm doing a gig tomorrow with only one and no PA for instruments. I expect it to fill the room as it always does.

PF350, not sure how big the room is but I've been told about 100 people. I've used it in a room as big as 800 with no PA, and one time my REDDI came unplugged from the AC accidentally just as I ran offstage with my upright at an outdoor gig in front of about 4000 people, and I was still present in the mix although just a little quiet. Still had plenty of headroom left on the amp, which was the Micro VR that day. Granted, we're not trying to blow people's heads off, but we're not quiet, either.

I'm tempted to try the single cab on my next gig in two weeks. I've been told I'm a little loud both times we have played there.. Same V4B for both gigs, but first gig was a single 15 (LDS) and my volume knob was about 10:30. Last gig was with the 4x12, and I was about 9:00 on volume. Maybe with the 2x10, 10:30 will be just right.. Which is right in the sweet spot of this head.

We have been a little loud at this gig, even though no one has complained. Maybe me downsizing to the 2x10 will benefit. I'm only really competing with a Deluxe Reverb/Tele and unmiced drums.

I think I'm just at that point where moving heavy gear is getting old. Never thought I would say that, as I lugged a vintage SVT and 8x10 around a couple years ago as my only amp! I miss the coolness of it, but man it was a PITA to lug around and I'm a good sized man. Nowadays, I dread the loading and unloading the V4B but I will never sell it because it is the best sounding amp I've ever owned.

The ease of grabbing one or two of these 2x10's for each practice/gig seems easy compared to moving the 4x12 and trying to fit it in my double cab truck or throwing it in the back.

Bought and received a second 2x10 and matching head. Just had a few minutes to play the different combinations- V4b with 2 cabs, micro with one and two cabs, vertical stacking and side by side, etc. I know the micro stack is old news, but I am just blown away with the head and cab(s). One cab is awesome, but 2 is twice as good!

I'm thinking about doing a vertical stack with my V4B next to it on an amp stand for my gig next weekend. Very excited! Now just need to find an amp stand..

I would totally gig the micro head with the two cabs as well, and I'm a die hard vintage Ampeg tube guy.

I know the OP was discussing V4Bs into Ampeg 210s, I also have 2 x SVT-210AV's (stacked). I use a Mesa WD-800 set to 2 ohm through them( drops it to 600 watts ) sounds awesome but I have to always remember the 2x10s are only 200 Watts, and care is needed on the master volume. But.. that combination sure sounds sweet with the Mesa's dampening on low. I think these little cabs seem to sound good with a variety of different heads (at moderate volumes). Light and portable too. I like em a lot.
