I’ve used several different flat wounds but it’s my first time with a fully broken in set of 760fl’s which I love but the longer they’ve broken in the more dead the G string has become compared to the rest of the strings. Decays super fast and just sounds dull, even for a flat wound to the point I’ll even change how I play on this bass avoiding it as much as possible

I’m wondering if I just got a bad string, or if this is a thing with these specific strings.

I can’t really offer too much insight; I’ve got 760FLs on my Schecter that I installed two weeks ago. So far I find the E thumpier than the other three, and the G brighter than the other three. I’m going to keep them on, because the feel of these strings is luxurious, but I do notice some peculiarities.

Interesting. I don’t think I ever noticed any unbalance between EAD strings. They all were balanced until broken in.

What bass do you have them mounted on? Some basses inherently have one, two, or a few dead notes from the resonanace of the body & neck sapping the sustain. Does this happen with any other strings besides a 760FL set? In the meantime, try tightening the truss rod 1/4 turn, enough to change the resonance, but not enough to change the relief, which would require re-setting the bridge.
