Hello All, I wondered if any of you know if the Zoom H2 will work with an 8 gig SD card? I know some have used an 8 gig card in the H4 and it has worked. Just curious.

8 gig SD & H2?

I am about to try the same thing on Thursday, I assume it's fine, not sure what problem it could actually pose.
It may work and I thought I read somewhere here that someone used an 8gb card successfully. Zoom has only tested it with a 4gb and confirmed certain brands. Not all brands work.
I just did a quickie search on google, i realized we have the H4, not H2 but I think this may apply either way.

I can't imagine filling a 16gb card with wav files and then have to transfer it to your pc. I use a 2gb and recorded almost 2 hours worth of wav files and the card was about 3/4 full. I tried a 4gb card and it didn't work (only certain brands have been confirmed to work). The H2 recognized it and formatted it but it wouldn't record to it! I have plenty of 2gb cards and they come cheap these days.
Hmmmmm, I just bought a 4 gig card as I didn't want to push the envelope. I hope it works then. I need to record 4 hours and that's why I inquired originally. I'll have to let you know if it works or not.
I'd think you'd be fine. I had the same question when taking the leap to an 8GB CF on my M-Audio recorder. Nonetheless, probably worth buying media from a vendor with a solid return policy, just in case. Also - if it doesn't work, it's a good opportunity to see if there's a firmware upgrade for your recorder that might accommodate the larger media.
In terms of uploading, and this is probably obvious, but be sure to go with Ultra II or faster media that offers the fastest possible 'read' speeds.

Great Guys, my 4 meg worked just fine too. That gives me 6 hours of record time which is what I wanted. I would have bought the 8 meg if I was sure but this will do me fine.
