8 string (4x2) alternate tuning

So I'm just curious If any 8 string players here use alternate tunings, mainly bbeeaadd like the lower strings of a 10 string (5x2). I'm not wanting it for solo work or jam type of stuff. It's just 8 strings are much cheaper and more easy to find than 10 strings. I Play in a hard rock/metal band and just want something to fill out the sound a little bit in our one guitar band for a few songs where the one guitar would be in more of a lead roll.

The only tuning i go is Drop D, just some tunes the low Ds makes the room fill. King's X on the hey day when Dug played 8 strings i could hear as low as a C#.

D standard is a nice tuning you could try out.
