80s or 90s Heartfield DR 5 string

I bought my DR4 new back then, and it's still in the collection. It's a very very well made bass that despite its low weight and skinny neck, has a deep and powerful acoustic resonance. The layer of composite fibre under the fretboard and over the headstock may be unique. The tone circuit is certainly unusual and can get a cool cutting tone that I can't really duplicate. That bass and a (long gone) TNT130 got me through a bunch of gigs, never let me down.

It's not played much these days, but when I break it out, it makes me smile.

Glad your father found his special, too. Play it well!
