80s Washburn Experts Assemble!

So I bought this poor guy today. At some point it took a tumble. Anyway, I'd like to use the parts on another bass, but I'm curious about what was in there. And I CANNOT FIGURE OUT THE MODEL. Looks like a Force Bass, but I can't find this exact model. Pickups are PJ with a brass base. Bridge is chunky with brass saddles. Controls are not like anything I've seen and the whole control section was encased in metal. Never seen that before. Tuners are decent but unmarked. Serial number is 6 digits starting with 81 (1988?)

What have we got here?

I believe it's this ie. not an SB40 but a Daion Washburn Vulture variant according to this post answered by MEker, our TB Washburn expert. OMG, wonder if it is the very same bass but in this kind of condition now.
If so, sad to see it in this state.

Thanks for this link--I'm going to tear into it when I get home. Thankfully they are not the same bass--the grain pattern by the heel of the neck don't match. Seriously, thanks for all the help from everyone!

I have an 86 B2 that had the same bridge. It now has a Hipshot A type and I also changed the pickups on it although the Washburn branded P style EMG Selects (passive) were ok I wanted something with a little better bottom. I still have the old bridge and pickups. I have had the bass since new and I have always liked it.
