I normally use nickels as well, mostly due to fret wear. Ive used these a couple of times on my Stingray Special because someone recommended that they pair well and it has SS frets. Not sure yet if Ive decided on them yet over slinkys but they work fine. More clank than the nickel Slinkys, tames Stingray upper mids a bit, more flexible than the nikel XL's, seem to last a while and sound good broken in. However at this price I had to buy a few sets. Maybe the manufacturer is updateing the product and getting rid of the old stock?
