Can anyone out there tell me definitively what lacquer was used on '91 EBMM Stingrays ?
I want to refinish the head face after applying a new decal.
I would also appreciate advice on placing the decal. I ask this because the decal in question came from MM. It appears to be a normal waterslide transfer but it is printed in reverse, i.e. you are looking at the back of the decal on the backing sheet. This sheet also has registration marking to ensure proper placement on the head. All this suggests that the decal was applied to the head while still on the backing sheet. I am wondering if that means the decal was applied whilst the lacquer was still wet and the backing removed by soaking after the lacquer has hardened.
Maybe there is someone out there who worked for MM in the neck finishing dept.
