I just saw the driver from UPS here to collect a parcel to ship to France.
He didn't actually volunteer to collect the parcel because it didn't have printed labels with a bar chart on them, he says in order to send a parcel to France you have to own a functional printer (mine is broken at the mo)and anyway the subcontractor I booked with online, that had subbed the work out to UPS, had not emailed any labels nor was there any information about needing a printer on the site, so thankfully I am able to get a refund of the charges.
I wondered if this is going to expand via their favourite subject Logistics to anything else totally irrelevant that the UPS directors think I should own in order to simply send a parcel.
What about things like a microwave or a multi speed food processor, why the feck don't they demand the ownership of other utterly irrelevant items to the process of mailing something.
That's it! time for direct action! against this load of the same colour substance as their livery might suggest. Injustice is the mother of terrorism, be warned UPS.:spit::mad:

I'm not sure I understand what you're upset about....
Of course they want a real label with bar code on it.
this is how they scan your item, to enter it into the tracking system, yes?

1. Why is this in Amps not Off Topic?

2. Did you really just suggest (even jokingly) that you're considering acts of violence because you didn't grok how to send a package? Really? I think I sprained my eyes from rolling them so hard.

I kind of know that! What I don't understand however, is exactly why the driver that comes with a printed order sheet hasn't simply got them automatically yay! Logistically self adhesively attached to the fricking order sheet.:hmm:
After all I had to fill in all details of the consignee and consignor on the website order, including it appears sexual preference and inside leg measurements.
If I ran a parcel service. I would demand a standard of quality
in my labelling system that I was personally in control of.
I blame the whole situation on the fall of the British Empire.
Standards of service have slipped don'cha know old chap!.:scowl:

Funny posting :) and I think you are right.

Frightfully upper class as it happens chaps! It's my family that had a word with that good old boy Franny Drake about what these Indian chaps where smoking over there in the new world, and got a serious bum steer when it came to tobacco instead of weed, still anyhoo we sent some pleb soldier called smith (turned out to be a bit of a Jimmy Saville with the native girls unfortunately) along with our man Captain Bart Gosnold from Otley Hall a gent, skipper of the Godspeed don'cha know, off to the new world with a couple of other ships full of labour to start a tobacco farm with the help of the those frightfully nice native chaps we had heard about.
So if you wouldn't mind awfully old chap, I think it would be wise to give us Fairfax's back Virginia as it was ours first, Fair Play! I think you colonial chaps will remember and so far Virginia seems to have been solely represented by Jerry Springer while you American chaps have been looking after it.
Regards Mark Lucian Fairfax-Harwood.
PS. Personally I blame that French trouble maker trapper bloke Paul Revere the English where not in fact coming, they where, like the Indians and buffalo, all ready there old boy!

It sounds like you are waiting to get a call tag, that the UPS guy should have had. Either that, or the guy in France should have emailed it to you, then you print it out, put it on the package for the UPS guy. But, UPS has never picked up anything from me, at home or at work, without some sort of bar coded label.

"Call tag"

Yes, if you were waiting on a call tag, the driver should have had that.
Yes, if someone else paid for shipping, they can email you a label.
But, if you don't have a printer, that might not help you much.

No your not viewing this from quite the same point of view.
You see from an old Viking family point of view, I was trying to send a parcel using only a fiscal inducement without sufficient physical threat or force of arms to obtain a problem free satisfactory result.
You wouldn't want to usurp my cultural background therefore I have the following set of well tried remedies to attempt to resolve this issue.
Pillage, laying waste to, arson, torture, rape, raising to the ground, including destroying all live stock and burning of trees.
Argh that's it the old family business.:D

So you're upset with UPS because you didn't have a printer to print the required label for the box AND the third-party service you were using provided poor information.

Yep. This is defintiely UPS's fault. :rollno:

You should do that.

Let us know how it works out for you.
