94 MODULUS 4....??SHED ANY LIGHT?

The model with the pickguard was called the M-92, I believe. Most of them had a single EMG soapbar in the neck position, and 35" scale was standard for all of 'em.

Yours may have been a special one with two J's--seems like Modulus did that kind of thing from time to time--or someone may have routed the bridge position for an extra J pickup and swapped out the pickguard. You could check under the pickguard to find out, if you haven't already.

As for fattening up the sound of the bridge pickup, I'm not sure there's a whole lot that can be done about that, given its position. You might try and make sure it's as close to the strings as you can manage without buzzing, so that you're at least getting higher output that's a little closer to the neck pickup, but that's probably about it.
