98 Geddy Lee sig w/mods

Looking at a 98 geddy lee signature model (limited edition, "crafted in Japan"). Mods include SD 1/4 pound pickups and a better capacitor, and a different pickguard and knobs. At $800, sounds like a decent deal? thoughts? I've read the earliest years are more desirable. Is that true?

depends on where you are located, but to me, that doesn't sound like much of a deal.

Iwouldnt pay a penny more. I see similar in the $ 600's at times

I paid $500 shipped for mine in 2003 and it was brand new. I would hit him for $550 - $600 and go from there. No more than $650 IMO.

I sold mine (2009 model?) a few years ago for $500 or $550. I see em often on cl in the $5-600 range. I just figured since this was the first year model, it was a little more collectible (slightly better quality?). Not sure how much the pickups add costwise. And couldn't care much for the pick guard or chrome knobs
