I've had many guitars over the years but this one will probably stay with me forever. I got this a few years ago for...let's say..."a special price". The neck needed a reset, the frets needed replacement, the tuners were aaaaawful, the pickups were mounted in a really weird way (and aren't original anyway) and the bridge was mounted directly behind the bridge pickup. So I took it to a local luthier who specializes in vintage (semi-)acoustics twice. Once for the neck reset and a few years later for the rest.
And although I rarely play it, I love it. The specs are weird: the tuners hare now high end Japanese replacements. The pickups are a 1970s Gibson T-Top (bridge) and a 1970's DeArmond (neck), the control plate is homemade. The serial suggests it's from 1959, but the font and design of the headstock says otherwise, it's probably from 1961 or 1962. It's strung with Thomastik flatwounds and it's a great little guitar. I've never used it live and probably never will. And that's fine.
