the first thing that came to my mind when i saw this ugly bass was to get it and join an ac/dc coverband where you only need the e- and SOMETIMES the a-string.

Tennessee basses tend to be crappy quality. $1750 for one just because it has 15 strings?

I bet this bass would be a treat to intonate, tune and setup!

I just calculated that if that one is tuned in fourths like a regular bass, it would have a register of almost 6 (edit 8) octaves. Is it correct to call that a bass anymore?

When I first clicked on this thread, I thought it was a 5x3 string bass, like this below but one more set of strings to get the low b or high c or whatever...

I really have never seen a thread on the "Tennessee" basses here, so again I apologize to all who have been forced to open this thread and see it again.
And I was not intending to insult those who play multi string (or "erb" or whatever they call 'em) basses, just having a laugh at the cheesy looking construction of this and their other sweat-shop specials (6-necked, 5-necked, and the 6-string bass/12-string guitar on a SINGLE neck....). The buyer feedback on them tells the story.

Again, apologies to all who are offended by being compelled to look.

Please, will some mod delete this?

My guess is, without active electronics in there, you'd never hear a tone from those little goofy cheesewire strings!

You mean the guitar gauge strings? It seems that passive pickups have worked fine for decades for those cheese wire loving guitar players prior to the development of active electronics being made to be used for guitar and bass. I must confess that is one ugly bass as far as my tastes go. I also find the bridge on that beast to be highly laughable and most likely useless in regards to intonation, and action adjustment. It's got a whole lot of problems other than not having active electronics.
