A 15 string bass on ebay (hilarious)

I hope this isn't breaking some rule about pointint to Ebay auctions, but THIS is one of the most ludicrous basses I have ever seen.

What good could possibly come of owning THIS?

It's obviously another cheesy sweat shop special.

Nothing is wrong with passive electronics - on *normal* basses like Fenders, Peaveys, etc.

But luthiers who make exotic 7 or 9 or *15* string basses tend to use fancy custom active preamps. The customer base for such things are going to demand it. Of course, the 15-string buyer will likely also want multi-wood laminated through-neck construction as well.

This thing - as well as their 5 and 6-necked guitars - are for hanging on walls as a joke.

Sorry for posting this for the 101th time. I have not seen it posted here before even though I look here nearly every day.

also, i know quite a few folks who have passive electronics on their erb's, and i have the option on both my ritter 7 string and my doubleneck 7/7.

I'm not in this section very much so I didn't see it before. Funny.

I just calculated that if that one is tuned in fourths like a regular bass, it would have a register of almost 6 (edit 8) octaves. Is it correct to call that a bass anymore?

When I first clicked on this thread, I thought it was a 5x3 string bass, like this below but one more set of strings to get the low b or high c or whatever...
