That's just typical anti-ERB close mindedness! Who are you to say what the upper limit on string number should be? If somebody wishes to play a 26 string bass, then it's their right to do so without being bashed on here about it. It's peoples own choice what instrument they choose to play and as long as they're expressing themself through their music then nobody else has the right to blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah rant ad nauseam...

I've read about the string theory before, and its still flying way over my head somewhere. But a 26string bass would be unplayable, imagine the gravitational pull, it'd weigh too much.

If you can find someone to build it, go for it! I'd be afraid to see how much it would cost to keep strings on it. With 26 tuners, I'd be paranoid it would be out of tune before you were done with the 24th string.

I own a 230 string bass! Its crazy that everyone else call it a
Piano.

Seriously I find it funny the imagination of the few that can never have enough strings on thier Bass. Why not 27 strings?
