UPS just dropped off my Bongo Stealth 5 HH this morning,...tweaking the action a bit and doing a LOT of playing on it since the man from Brown woke me up. This bass is smokin! String spacing is a little tight compared to my usual basses,...but overall first impressions,....WOW!!!!! Will post a pic after I wear my fingers out.

Painted, very nice feel to it,..not "sticky" at all. I may just run down and pick up some DR black beauties to slap on her. Never have tried a set,..but the cool factor might just make up for any tone suck they might have.

I love my Bongo (an HH in Lava Pearl). For the price point, it really can't be beat. And the pre in it is spectacular.

Yeah, actually I tend to prefer darker colors, bursts, or natural. This was part of what took me so long to come around to the bongo's appearance. I can't say I really dig the ultra bright reds, oranges, and yellows, although silver has kind of warmed up to me. I am currently taking inventory and ridding myself of a few basses to make way for a little brother or sister for this bongo (to keep in standard tuning). Probably will go black. I do so wish they made a sunburst finish for these- that would be da bomb!
