The ceiling area above the stage is open. There are catwalks and stuff up there, including the steel beams that hold the building. We rigged chain hoists to the steel up there. Those hoists are attached to the trusses. There are then separate chain hoists attached between the truss and the arrays. If you look just above the fly bar on the line array you can see them. This allowed me to have separate control over truss height and array height, and also makes it a little easier to put up and take down since you don't have to work on the arrays while the truss is right at or below your head level like you would if the array was dead hung from the truss.
