Why do you need a video if you aren't really going to play out?
Why do you need a video if you aren't really going to play out?
We don't want to waste any time with singers who aren't what we are looking for.
We've mostly gotten responses from loud, brassy, show tune types that we consider inappropriate for the material.
This right here.
So why aren't you linking videos of your performances or at least audio for the potential candidates to review before they decide to waste their time on you? You know, two way street and all that. Do you think it's realistic to expect people to furnish audio/video of their playing for a project that you admit is just for fun and probably won't be performing?
the ad indicated jazz cats --- sometimes jazzers get a little outside on that humor thing. i thought it was funny.
Yes...we do think it's realistic for any musician responding to have clips of themselves in 2019 A.D..
I have clips of myself to submit when I respond to an ad and we have links of ourselves to provide in return if asked.
And I didn't say we probably wouldn't be performing. I said that performance was a possibility.
This is the first musical situation I've been in that is primarily just for the enjoyment of the music itself and the playing of it and we're putting that out front.
I think it's totally reasonable to ask for examples of someone's abilities (and to provide some) before getting involved to any degree.
YMMV
Cool. So why doesn't your craigslist ad link to some material right away? If it's so important, why beat around the bush?
Hey man. You don't like it? Don't respond.
However, if you have clips and are fertile...please do.
