It's a little known fact that in addition to their bicycle business, the Wright brothers made a brief foray into making musical instruments.
One of their basses was used as part of the support for an early attempt at manned flight. While this effort was not successful, it did get airborne for a very brief time.
It has been known ever since as the "Up" Wright bass.
