A couple questions

Searched, and didn't find quite what I was looking for. I'm ordering some pots from basspartsresource.com and they say that the CTS linear pots should only be used for tone. Is this true? Because I was reading that they work well for volume. Also, is the red wire used in wiring pots some type of special wire, or will any conductive covered wire work? Thanks,

that's weird, because it's exactly wrong. linear pots are terrible for tone, but great for bass volume. you want audio taper pots for tone.

what "red wire" is that? any insulated wire will work; stranded is best just because it won't break after getting moved around like solid wire will.

Errr... audio taper pots were specifically invented for volume controls.

But either kind works in either application, depending on your tastes.
