Fretless basses are a blast to play. Give it a try some time. I have a bass that some crazy fool de-fretted. It plays great.

The Rolling stones bass player used a de- fretted, fretless bass in the 1960's.

Jaco Pastorius pulled the frets off his bass with a butter knife in the back of a tour buss in the early 1970's. If your not familiar with Jaco, look him up!!!! He was the greatest bass player in the world. (At least he said so.) And that may be hard to argue that he is not.

A side question,
How is your life going in Venezuela now? Things sound ugly and unsafe on the news here in the states.
