A designs Reddi

Hey lads been a while since i posted anything , been busy as #$%^ ....

Anyway in between working on my studio and trying to get some tunes down i got an A designs Reddi for xmas....

I have been tracking with it the last couple of days ...

Is definitely all it's cracked to to be thats for sure....

I have a Japanese Fender squire thing that looks like a Jazz I have know idea of its so called quality but it has always been a little subtle when trying to tweak a sound. As soon as i ran it through the Reddi it really came to life and became responsive much to my suprise.

I haven't tried any of my other basses yet but i will be soon...

After dicking around with various other Bass DI's this thing just works and pulls a great sound with out any rooting around or nib nob tweaking...

If you can i would recomend you try one...

I am sooooo ready to pull the trigger on the A Designs Pacifica Mic Pre!!!!! I have heard GREAT things about the REDDI and might be kind of wanting one of those too, although my Avalon U5 sounds pretty damn good. A Designs is quality stuff!!!

though i haven't had a chance to try one for myself yet, i've heard only that the REDDI rocks.

Well i tried one of my other basses the other night an old actice Yamaha rbx 5 string.
The reddi really is clear and Fat, i ran the the Reddi at full into a DBx compressor into an Mbox . I really had to back the levels of on Mbox so as to compensate for the active bass.

As you would expect the compressor really helps but if the compressor has to much colour you run the risk of it altering the sound of the Reddi.

Once again slight tweaks on the bass Eq made huge differences to the overall tone via the reddi.

With previous peices of lesser equipment i really had to work had to get a tone i was happy to record with.

I can't explain enough just how easy it is to get a great tone out of this thing.
( Just for the record i ain't no recording guru either )

I have to do some tracking later over the weekend with my effects board and my Tune bass so i'll let you guys know how that goes..
