A Different Paul McCartney Rickenbacker

While an hour deep into a YouTube vortex, I came across some footage from Paul McCartney and Wings at Wembley, October 1976. In all previous photos and videos of this tour, a left-handed Fender Jazz can be seen on a stand behind Paul, serving as the backup to his Ric 4001.

But in the screen shots below, there is a Rickenbacker 3000 bass where the Jazz usually lived. I have never seen this bass before (in Paul's possession). This brings the known total of Ric basses owned by Paul to four: 4001, 4001 Fretless, 4005, 3000.

Jeebus, that's three more than I was aware of. Seriously, Macca played fretless?

Seriously, any professional musician played a Ric 3000-series?!?!?!

:ducks:
Geddy Lee used one on occasion in the late 1970's:

And here's a shot of former Eagles bassist, Randy Meisner, with a 3001:
